It is important for the addicted gambler to maintain social ties outside of those with his or her online gaming companions. For this, the help of friends and family is very important!

Some ideas :


- Start a sport, individual or collective, in a club or not. The idea is to get them out of their game, to exercise, possibly to meet new people and to develop a passion for this sport. It is important to know that imposing this on him/her is not the best solution. You must be able to discuss it with the person concerned, listen to him/her, accept his/her choices and accompany him/her. It can be interesting for him to start a new sport with a parent, a brother or a friend, so that he is not alone.


- Learn to play a musical instrument. Music has a tremendous effect on behavior, anxiety and expression. It can be a good way for an addicted person to get out of their games, without being in contact with too many people if they don't like it as it can often be the case, and it can allow them to express their emotions through their instrument.


- Do regular activities with the family, such as walks, board games, cultural outings, etc...


- Go out and enjoy life with friends, those who are not fictional, and do other activities than being behind a screen, such as bowling, an escape game or a lasergame. The latter may be a good alternative if the player likes fighting games, he could find some comfort in it.
